NY Greek American SC is an American soccer club based out of New York City that currently competes in the amateur Eastern Premier Soccer League, which they have been a founding member of since its foundation in 2020. Historically, NYGA competed in the famous Cosmopolitan Soccer League where they won the league title 9x. The club was formed in 1946 by famous track & field athlete Tom Laris. In its 75+ year history, “The Greeks” have grown to become one of the most successful clubs in America’s domestic cup tournament, the National Challenge Cup, now known as the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, winning four times, become the joint 2nd most successful side in the competition’s history, and the most for a club from the state of New York. NYGA is one of the oldest continuously operating American soccer clubs in existence and plays their games at the Metropolitan Oval in Maspeth, Queens.
